Behavior Coach -$500 Signing Bonus

Job Information

Pay: $17.00-$20.00/hr. (dependent upon experience, level of education, etc.)


Job Types: Full-time positions available. *NOTE: The position requires driving and in-person services. Mileage reimbursement is offered.


Company Description: People Empowering People of AZ Inc., has been serving the mental health needs of Arizona families for more than 15 years. Our agency specializes in providing outpatient services to the SMI, GMH, SU, and Deaf Populations across the valley. We treat a number of mental health disorders. Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize and become aware of their inner strengths.


Job Responsibilities: The Behavior Coach works collaboratively with our clinical therapists and participants and families to support and assist participants and families in developing and implementing skills. The Behavior Coach works in a community-based team environment, providing mentoring and skills training to participants and families and inspiring hope in the participant’s recovery journey. The Behavior Coach is also responsible for providing ongoing support to participants and families by listening, encouraging positive communication, and identifying what is or isn’t working, in addition to building skills to facilitate growth in the areas of identified need. When appropriate, the Behavior Coach will meet with clinical staff and supervisors to improve the quality of processes and participant care. The Behavior Coach plays an important role in building participant empowerment through recognition and individualization, working as an active facilitator (or co-facilitator) in groups and individual recovery.


Scope: The Behavior Coach provides services to participants and families within the home, office, or community as agreed upon. The Behavior Coach shall encourage and support participants from a place of experience, education, and understanding. In accordance with their training and certifications, the Behavior Coach shall identify, demonstrate, and educate individuals on healthy and appropriate coping strategies and skills that have been proven to be effective in managing identified behaviors, symptoms, and needs.


Essential Functions:

  • Observing and assessing patients' behavior.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans to address behavioral issues.
  • Supporting patients throughout the treatment process.
  • Communicating with patients' teachers, caregivers, and families to implement treatment plans.
  • Monitoring and recording treatment progress.
  • Conducting assessments to determine patients' improvements.
  • Maintaining patient records and treatment reports.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare specialists and support organizations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Degree in mental health, psychology, or a related field or 2 years experience in behavioral/mental health or family services. (preferred)
  • Valid Drivers License
  • CPR & First Aid (required)
  • Proof of Auto Insurance (required)
  • Own Transportation (This position requires driving and in-person services)
  • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card 
  • Willing to Drive

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Computer skills including working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendar. Experience with Apple products is a plus. In addition effective interpersonal skills, ability to follow instructions, good written and verbal communication skills, time management skills, knowledge of psychiatric conditions, typing skills, and sound judgment.
